YAKAR AKIN
After completing her education at Tokat Anatolian Fine Arts High School, she graduated from Marmara University, Department of Music Education. Although her primary instrument is violin, she has also developed proficiency in voice, piano, guitar, and baglama.
Her interest in choral music led her to join Rezonans in 2019 after successfully passing the ensemble’s auditions. In 2020, she took her first step into conducting by winning the conducting traineeship auditions held by Burak Onur Erdem. Between 2020 and 2023, she periodically conducted Rezonans, and in September 2024, she successfully completed the assistant conductor auditions, beginning her role as the ensemble’s assistant conductor. She continues to perform as an active chorister as well.
Continuing her musical and artistic growth in the field of conducting, she has worked with esteemed conductors such as Burak Onur Erdem, Jan Schumacher, Georg Grün, Sebastjan Vrhovnik, and Yuval Weinberg through various masterclasses, participating both as an observer and an active conductor.
In 2025, she was selected as a recipient of the İKSV Young Artist Fund and the ECA The Noël Minet Fund.
She conducted the Yeditepe Polyphonic Choir during the 2024–2025 season. Since 2025, she has been serving as the founder, conductor, and artistic director of Canola Choir.
